Working Out Keeps Your Body Looking Youthful (So Many Benefits From Exercising)

I got married, had a baby and finished college. Life was going along fantastic when suddenly I found myself living in Vermont. Now Vermont is beautiful but not quite fun for a girl in her young twenties to be placed in a town that everything you did you went to one house. So when we move into an actual town I went to put my college skills to work. I soon found out that it was no long listing of jobs. I did find this one that said “looking for a manager for our aerobics department”. So of course being desperate to mingle in society and get out I went for an interview. I said that I managed before which was very good but I also said I taught aerobics ok maybe I was stretching the truth just a bit. I did teach exercise here and there at college but that was the closes thing any kind of aerobics. I thought to myself “I can do this”, I took dance and gymnastic I’m sure I can figure out something. I had four days to practice until 6:30 Monday night. I went and found every aerobics video I could find and I started watching all the aerobics on television. The videos did give me many ideas but I would soon find out I would get them all confused in my head. Now all I had to do was get my music. The big day was here and I was so nervous. As I did my routine I had made up I looked behind me and people looked a bit frazzled and tangled up as we were stretching. I laughed to myself and thought what am I doing? I finished my class and everyone was very friendly. The next day the boss said that I had to work out but everyone said I had a great personality so I got the job. That was the beginning of my health field career. I taught my little butt of teaching up to twenty five classes a week. The money was pretty good so I continue for many years to come. As I went along I went back to school to work with an orthopedic Dr. and also went back to school to be a physical therapy asst. as well as a massage therapist. Yes you can say that I wore many hats. From managing gyms, owning my own dance and aerobic studio, camp director, personal training, aerobics instructor, gymnastic coach to my last was a fitness director at the YMCA and believe me there’s many more. I truly feel that this kept me young physically and mentally. I can’t explain how important it is to exercise and keep in shape. It helps with not only your health; it builds your confident and keeps you a happier person mentally. I feel it has a big part that keeps not only my body looking youthful but my mind as well. If you say you don’t have the energy, or the well. It’s important to make it. We are using that statement that curves are sexy too much. We also need to separate what is sexy curves and what is overweight because I think the country is running with I’m just curvy. I am not here to put anyone down but to let people know what and asset it was for me in keeping my body looking and feeling young. So we all need to stop making excuses. Stop saying I don’t know how I gained the 10 pounds…etc. We need to get up and make it easy and fun to work out. If you can give yourself ten to twenty minutes a day you will see a difference and before you know it the warm weather will be upon us and you can have that body you want. Not having to hide under baggie clothes, which will be an amazing feeling. So get up and moved that body. Barbara Jeanne xo
